The best choice of gaskets
Are you experiencing leaks in your machinery or production facilities? Is there a risk of leaks contaminating machinery or the environment? Do you want to make sure you can maintain the right pressure for smooth operation?
Get guidance here and a free guide on the different types of gaskets, critical factors and gasket material selection.
- Gaskets
Keep an eye on flange connections
It's a good idea to regularly inspect gaskets and pipe joints and consider whether they need replacing. A leaking flange joint can have major consequences for your machinery and production:
- Leaks and contamination
- Work accidents or fire hazards
- Power loss or downtime
Let us guide you to the right gaskets.
The right gasket for the job
When looking for a gasket suitable for your specific application, it's important to consider what properties the gasket should have:
- Tightness - How much pressure is the gasket exposed to? Is it exposed to aggressive chemicals, smoke, steam or high temperatures?
- Lifetime - If you don't choose the right gasket material for the job, the gasket will quickly wear out and need to be replaced. With the right material, it can last as long as the machine parts.
- Detachability - Should you be able to loosen the (pipe) connection the gasket seals and remove the gasket without damaging the gasketed surfaces?
- Thermal conductivity - Should the gasket act as a thermal conductor? Or should it be a thermal insulator?
- Elasticity - How elastic should the gasket be? For example, does it need to compensate for unevenness on the packed surfaces?

Our best advice: Make your needs clear
There are many options when it comes to gasket design and material properties, so it can seem like a jungle to navigate. At Betech, we know exactly what qualities and approvals are required if your gasket needs to be, for example:
- have contact with food or drinking water
- Comply with fire classification or gas tightness requirements
- tolerate aggressive chemicals or sanitary environments
- Operate in extremely high or low temperature applications
Our best advice to you is: Understand your needs and the desired material properties. By choosing the right gasket from the start, you avoid costly downtime and get gaskets that will last the lifetime of the machine.
