About the 'forever chemical' PFAS
We receive questions from customers about whether products in our portfolio contain PFAS and how Betech sees the development in this area. Below is the current situation and Betech's position on the PFAS issue.

What are PFAS?
PFAS (per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances) include thousands of man-made chemicals that are widely used in consumer and industrial products, including non-stick cookware, stain-resistant textiles, seals, self-lubricating bearings and many, many others. The PFAS category includes fluoropolymers such as PTFE, PVDF, PFA FEP, FKM, FVMQ and FFKM.
Has the EU decided to regulate the use of PFAS?
Together with four other countries, Denmark has submitted a proposal for a total ban on the use of PFAS in the EU. Betech is following the development of the case in close collaboration with our partners. For now, nothing has been decided, as any regulation of the use of PFAS is still at the proposal stage.
Once there is clarification in the EU, Betech will of course take steps to comply with the applicable legislation.

Smiley - food inspections
Betech stores and handles materials that may come into contact with food in end-user applications. Therefore, Betech is subject to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration's "Smiley" control scheme.
