Important to offer multiple shapes and sizes

Since 2019, the Danish joint venture The Paper Bottle Company - PABOCO - has been working on developing a recyclable bottle made from FSC-certified fibers. The bottle is expected to be an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional plastic and glass packaging, which we know from the largest and most common consumer goods. The paper bottle is now being tested in several markets and PABOCO is ready to scale up production.

Forming the pulp material is one of PABOCO's innovative key technologies. In this process, PABOCO uses a creative solution provided by Betech.

Global brands test the new packaging

PABOCO has come a long way since its inception, and Betech's expertise in elastomers has in recent years contributed to the possibility of series production, both in terms of standard types and individual designs that provide distinctive, high-value visual features for brand manufacturers.

Global brands such as The Absolut Company, Carlsberg, L'Oréal, Coca Cola and Procter & Gamble have launched product and consumer trials of the paper bottle around the world. Series production of the next generation of paper bottles is planned and the goal is to deliver more than 20 million paper bottles by 2025.

Fast, efficient design iterations

The collaboration between The Paper Bottle Company and Betech has centered on the development of a key feature in the production of the paper bottles. Quick and cost-effective iterations on the design provided great progress on the road to scaling up production.

Significant contribution to a greener everyday life

" We are proud that PABOCO has chosen to draw on our niche competencies in their innovative product development of the paper bottle. The technology has the potential to redefine many types of packaging, especially in the consumer market, and make a significant contribution to a greener everyday life.
