It might seem like a small thing – a rubber ball about 20 mm in diameter. But often a large part of the overall value lies in the quality of the small components.
This is the case, for example, in the rubber balls that we at Betech supply to Cimbria, a world-renowned Danish manufacturer of machinery for processing field crops.
For Cimbria, a world-renowned Danish manufacturer of equipment and machinery for food processing, it is about offering excellent efficiency and purity.
In a series of cleaning and sorting machines, Cimbria has developed a unique system to clean the impurities from the valuable seeds, kernels, etc. The many rubber balls jump up and down against a perforated screen and knock the screen clean of sand grains, soil and the like that fall through the perforations, while the larger, cleaned crops remain on the screen.
But a rubber ball is not just a rubber ball; in this case, it is a food contact product, and that places very specific requirements on the material.
In addition to meeting the requirements for food contact, the balls must bounce effectively and continuously in relation to the mechanical energy they are activated by. In collaboration with Cimbria, Betech therefore found the right rubber compound and developed a precise specification of the important rubber balls.
Cimbra's cleaning machines illustrate an important point: Even seemingly simple components can be crucial for the overall performance of the machine – both in terms of food safety and functional quality.
When material selection, design and production are brought together into a higher unit, solutions emerge that:

Customized and optimized components create measurable value for the company. They reduce the risk of downtime, minimize the need for maintenance, and extend the lifespan of the overall equipment. At the same time, they ensure a more stable process and uniform product quality – which directly impacts the company’s production, delivery performance, and finances.
When you choose quality components, it is therefore not just a technical decision, but a strategic investment in reliable quality, efficient operation, lower total costs, and longer life for the company's machinery and products.
