What does Team Children, Youth & Grief do?
Team Børn, Unge & Sorg is a charity cycling team that raises money for grief-stricken children and young people.
The National Grief Center, which is behind Team Børn, Unge & Sorg, offers free counseling and specialized psychological help to children and young people under the age of 28 who experience serious illness or death in their immediate family.
Grief therapy is based on research and many years of practical experience. In addition to treatment, the National Grief Center works with competence development of professionals and the collection of knowledge and research in the field of grief.
Why cycling?
Betech is more than 100 years old and has grown several times through acquisitions and mergers. Historically, Betech has been involved in the production and sale of a crucial bicycle accessory.
Back in 1908, engineer Albert Theilgaard founded a rubber company in Køge, Denmark, which eventually specialized in rubber boots and not least bicycle tires!
Bicycle tires became very popular, but no expense was spared in marketing them either. Just look at this commercial, believed to be from the 1940s. Here, the greatest Danish actors of the time - Osvald Helmuth, Preben Neergaard and Ib Schønberg among others - throw themselves into a singing tribute to bicycle tires.
More than 15 years ago, one of the specialized production units from the legendary rubber goods factory in Køge became part of Betech.
